Buying or transferring a firearm in California is not as easy as some other states can be. Below is a breakdown of what documents and steps are required.
A current and valid California Driver's license, ID, or Real ID. We are not able to accept temporary print outs as valid identification, even if it does come from the DMV.

In order to purchase any firearm, you will need to hold and provide a valid Firearms Safety Certificate or FSC. If you do not have a current one or have lost your Firearms Safety Certificate we can conduct the test onsite for a $25 fee. The test is 30 questions long and is multiple choice and will be graded and pass or failed on-site. If you do not pass the test you can retake it 24 hours later. If you do pass a FSC will be printed and provided to you immediately.

California has a handgun safety roster, in order to purchase a handgun, that handgun must appear on the California Department of Justice Approved Handgun Roster, which linked here: https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/certified-handguns/search
